Preserving the rural beauty and agricultural legacy of Green Valley
Stewardship at the Heart of Green Valley
Founded in 2010 as part of the Middle Green Valley Specific Plan, the Green Valley Agricultural Conservancy (GVAC) is an independent nonprofit organization dedicated to protecting Green Valley’s agricultural lands, natural resources, and rural character through long-term stewardship, planning, and community collaboration.
The Conservancy was established to help ensure the long-term preservation, management, and stewardship of the area’s agricultural and open lands, and serves as an objective, community-based organization—supporting agricultural viability, overseeing conservation and open space, and guiding thoughtful development in a manner consistent with the goals and principles of the Specific Plan.

Design Review in Middle Green Valley
The Green Valley Agricultural Conservancy administers the Design Review process required for development within the Middle Green Valley Specific Plan Area. This process helps ensure that new construction and site improvements align with the rural character, agricultural priorities, and environmental goals of the community.
Design Review by GVAC is required prior to applying for or obtaining Solano County building permits.
Caring for a Working Landscape
Under the Middle Green Valley Specific Plan, the Conservancy helps manage and monitor approximately 1,500 acres of productive agricultural land, pastures, and natural areas. These lands form the foundation of Green Valley’s rural identity—supporting agriculture, habitat, open space, and scenic quality.
Through long-term stewardship and collaboration with landowners and public agencies, GVAC works to ensure these lands remain productive, healthy, and protected for generations to come.
